The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.

About the role

The Senior Field Service Manager manages the team of Field Service and Maintenance employees in support of plant operations. The manager serves as technical expert over Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls (EI&C) and Mechanical support issues, consulting with Archaea team members to solve complex problems. This individual is responsible for establishing and ensuring adherence to preventive maintenance programs across Operations fleet (compression, electrical, instrumentation). This is a hands-on position requiring direct involvement in ensuring facilities have resources for troubleshooting and resolving issues at site. This person will also leads and mentors Field Service and Maintenance professionals, overseeing fleet maintenance, optimizing performance, ensuring safety and compliance, managing maintenance/service budgets, and maximizing asset reliability through preventive maintenance programs. This position will manage a team of technicians across several operating states and assets in the US. Travel requirement of 50% and will vary based on plant outages, maintenance, and startup activities.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead and support Field Service and Maintenance professionals as direct reports, ensuring fleet performance, maintenance efficiency, and service quality.
  • Establish and implement company standards for condition-based monitoring for rotating equipment fleet (vibration, alignment, oil sampling, etc).
  • Manage system for tracking equipment failures and RCFA data associated with that equipment.
  • Establish and implement Preventive Maintenance strategy for new equipment and work with Operations to maintain schedule attainment and quality in PMs.
  • Partner with Field Operations to plan and execute annual outages at all facilities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the latest codes, standards, and best practices for mechanical safety for personnel and equipment protection. Fulfills the role of technical expert regarding mechanical and general process safety in the workplace and always sets a positive example of the company safety culture. Approaches design with safety and long-term serviceability as top priorities.
  • Provides on-site and hands-on support for all facility mechanical systems troubleshooting, repair, testing and upgrading needs.
  • Manage budgets related to maintenance program and cost controls for team, balancing quality service with cost efficiency.
  • Oversee the allocation of parts, tools, and Field Service & Maintenance manpower to maximize fleet uptime and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Manage the end-of-life strategy for aging equipment, including refurbishment, repowering, or decommissioning.
  • Participate in contract management process, vendor negotiations, and service agreements to optimize external support where needed.
  • Responsibilities include after-hours support during normal work week, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assists with planning and scheduling of routine maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Reviews work schedules, assignments, and rotations for team members.
  • Works with company management to create and maintain the annual operating budget for the department.
  • Participates in employee hiring process.
  • Ensures all employees are properly trained on the requirements of their respective position.
  • Reviews, approves, and submits employee timesheets and expense reimbursements.
  • Provides employees with honest and timely feedback and coaching on performance.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews with employees.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly equipment reliability reports and others as required.
  • Conducts weekly/biweekly status calls for all employees in team.
  • The travel requirement is 50% per month. Travel will vary based on plant outages, maintenance, and startup activities.
  • Assists the Sr Director of Maintenance on special projects nation-wide.
  • This is not a complete list of duties, Field Service & Maintenance managers may be required to perform additional duties deemed necessary by management.

Essential education

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Technical Field or 10+ years of plant operations and maintenance experience in a RNG plant, power plant, or other Chemical processing plant.

  • 6+ years of management experience or demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Must be available to travel up to 50% of the time and able to prioritize travel and decisions based on needs of the plants.
  • Must pass DOT drug test and DOT drug test history check.

How much do we pay (Base)? $110,000 - $158,000

*Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 - 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
