Position Summary

The Test Equipment Engineer (ENG 3) works closely with every division within Oceaneering Technologies to ensure operational excellence. Responsibilities include ensuring both equipment and facilities required for test activities are in a use-ready state at all times, are kept up-to-date, and have adequate staffing.

The Project Test Equipment Engineer may also support test efforts locally and in the field, support engineering and design test-related activities, and coordinate multi-disciplined teams including engineers, technicians, and other support staff if required.


Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Track, prioritize, and perform or oversee routine maintenance, pre-use checks, upgrades, repairs, staffing and authorized users, licensing, calibration, internal process documentation, and metrics on usage.
  • Prepares proposals for new and existing capital equipment including budgets and schedules and presents to management and internal clients for approval.
  • Oversees capital projects through to completion.
  • Frequent use of basic hand tools and setup of instrumentation.
  • Travel is expected up to 10% of the time.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Participation in and contribution to Test Engineering Departmental meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. Other relevant technical BS degrees considered. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 or more years of practical experience with the following: creating and maintaining budgets for capital equipment, coordination of multi-disciplined teams to accomplish projects, and deconflicting competing priorities effectively.
  • Candidate must be able to perform in an ISO-9000 company with a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.
  • US citizenship is required. Minimum ability to pass an advanced background check.

PREFERRED and DESIRED:

  • Well-rounded experience with watercraft, laboratories, electronics, power, and hydraulics.
  • Existing or obtainable certifications including 6-pack captain's license or better, DOT physical, and CDL-A.
  • Working knowledge of industrial codes.
  • Existing or obtainable Secret or Top-Secret security clearance with CI polygraph

SKILLS:

REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Broad understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts.
  • Displays excellent technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work with multi-disciplined groups to complete tasks.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Proficiency creating, maintaining, and implementing budgets and schedules.

PREFERRED and DESIRED:

  • Working knowledge of clean rooms, pressure vessels, facility planning, and manufacturing.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
