JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Facilities Project Engineer to join our team at NH Ball Bearings. In this role, you will focus on improving plant performance through improvements to safety, quality and increased production and/or reducing costs through increasing equipment reliability and improving process flows. Your primary objective will be on continuing the development and evolving function excellence within plant operations. With you leadership experience, you will take ownership of key initiatives/projects to drive sustainable competitive advantages.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, design and develop cost estimates and implement improvements to plant and equipment.
  • Use CAD for plan and design building infrastructure, structures and renovation for plant and equipment layouts.
  • Create effective, robust and safe operations with key departments.
  • Research, design and implement new production processes or modifications to existing production processes, equipment, automation and facilities.
  • Develop, train, implement and manage a TPM program along with developing and improving plant-wide equipment reliability/availability metrics relating to infrastructure.
  • Operate and employ equipment evaluation tools such as vibration analysis and IR thermographic equipment.
  • Develop efficient and cost effective equipment needs and specifications for new projects.
  • Working with key teams, support the process of purchasing and installation of new equipment, and support the facility's capital projects.
  • Provide leadership, instruction and training to coworkers and others involved in assigned projects, as needed.

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of maintenance and engineering processes and strategies, as related to manufacturing and building construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects - planning, scheduling and budgeting. Previous experience with project management preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in facilities HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and related safety and code requirements.
  • Relevant technical and computer skills AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience driving workplace change using 6S practices including driving workplace cleanliness and organization.
  • Highly self-motivated with demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and presentation skills including project planning and project update communication.
  • Ability to partner effectively with employees at all levels, and work within and lead cross-functional teams.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical), or related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with project management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to physically lift up to 40lbs, when necessary.
