- Stratford, CT
- Monday - Friday: 1st Shift

Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.

As the "face of Airgas", the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.   • Competitive Pay of $30 per hour

  • Forklift Training and Certification provided

  • HazMat 60 day Grace Period Allowance

  • Monday - Friday, AM Start time - Home Daily

Operates a B Hazmat vehicle, delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes. Collects empty cylinders from customers. Records transactions and obtains signatures. Addresses customer inquiries, ensuring satisfaction. Handles loading/unloading. Conducts pre/post-trip vehicle checks, noting issues and ensuring safety compliance. Presents a professional appearance and upkeeps the vehicle's condition.

  • Proficiency in English language for communication, signs, and documentation.

  • Strong verbal skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and goal-oriented.

  • Maintain accurate load manifests and documents.

  • Foster strong customer relationships, provide cost and delivery information.

  • Monitor and adjust cylinder levels to prevent emergencies

  • Analytical problem-solving for customer inquiries.

  • Safely load/unload, deliver, and retrieve cylinders and hard goods.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.

  • Valid USDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (card).

  • Hazmat Endorsement (H or X Endorsement) or ability to obtain.

  • Ability to operate a vehicle with an air brake system (no air brake restrictions on CDL).

  • May consider individuals with the ability to acquire a Hazmat Endorsement or the skill to operate air brake systems as a condition of employment.

  • Must have one (1) year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last four (4) years and a clean driving record to include no more than one (1) DOT moving violation and no more than two (2) DMV moving violations in a personal vehicle within the last three (3) years.

  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school or a combination of driving and prior Airgas specific experience.
