We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and Customer Resident Engineering.


Your responsibilities

The Commodity Buyer oversees the end-to-end procurement process, from nomination to EOP. Responsibilities include providing BOM estimates, ensuring supplier capacity, managing RFQ/RFI/RFP benchmarking, leading sourcing processes, presenting to the purchasing council, handling contracts, and implementing change management. The role also involves serial production management, supplier performance reviews, savings implementation, and executing commodity strategies to align with organizational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for purchasing assigned programs or platforms. Must meet targets of pricing, timing, quality, and parts country of origin as defined by the Central Purchasing Strategy meeting.
  • Oversees and supports the complete procurement process, encompassing activities such as COP, series and benchmark analysis, and e-auctions.
  • Prepare and input the BoM estimate of assigned commodities/products to the Project Procurement Management team (PPM). (Alignment with Costing department)
  • Prepare, launch, and lead RFI / RFQ processes in accordance with the company sourcing regulations and policies.
  • Manage and ensure supplier capacity through the nomination and serial phase of the projects and business.
  • Responsible for the nomination of all products/projects under the assigned commodities through the procurement process and sourcing regulations and policies.
  • Manage and ensure input and/or implementation of the assigned commodities products in the Change Management Process (AEMA).
  • Preparing and conducting/leading contract negotiations, such as nomination agreements and Master Purchase agreements in accordance with tPreparing and leading contract negotiations, including nomination agreements and Master Purchase Agreements, in accordance with standard purchasing organization formats and in alignment with cross-functional teams such as Global Commodity Management (GCM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).he process and the standard purchasing organization formats in alignment with the cross-functional teams such as Global Commodity Management (GCM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Compliance, maintenance, and implementation of the budgeted material costs and components pricing. (e.g., through annual price negotiations, Raw Material adjustments, and Price discrepancies)
  • Ensures the supplier onboarding and management (new supplier(s) localization, supplier evaluation (potential analysis and audit coordination) / supplier development in conjunction with the SQM and SCM teams/supplier escalation (BQEE process))
  • Develops, presents, implements, and continuously optimizes assigned commodity strategies, interacting regularly with the Global Commodity Organization and cross-functional teams to share best practices on methods and tools.
  • Creating a robust regional supplier pool and supporting the Global Commodity Manager with the global bidder's list and supplier consolidation, including supplier development, relocation, and management. (coordinated/supported by the PPM team)
  • Maintains open communication among internal departments, management, and suppliers

Your profile

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering; or three to five years related technical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the automotive sector and /or manufacturing processes preferred.
