Associate Financial Analyst, HSG Repair

JOB OVERVIEW:

This individual will be involved with the financial reporting and consolidation, forecasting and budgeting and analysis of the HSG businesses and therefore requires a solid understanding of financial budgeting, reporting, policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position necessitates the ability to work independently as well as with a team and possess the ability to successfully work on several assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities include analyzing and reviewing data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Position is responsible for uploading monthly close and R&O submissions as well as reviewing and compiling monthly reporting requirements to the Corporate Finance team. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare

Create and monitor financial results:

  • Update and maintain monthly reports used to analyze the financial results of the portfolio.
  • Learn internal financial systems used to download/upload data and reconcile.
  • Participate in the annual budget process including building and maintaining submission templates and working with the local businesses to submit detailed financial projections and review year-over-year variances for reasonableness.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial presentations.
  • Assist in the preparation of account and trend analyses and reconciliations. Support onboarding of newly acquired businesses and implementing our financial reporting processes and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with finance team members within the portfolio as well as throughout the Henry Schein corporate organization.

Analyze

Source, analyze and interpret data to report results and create models. Review trends and prepare analyses for diverse functions:

  • Recognize and investigate financial/business issues and communicate to management on a timely basis.
  • Review expense trend analysis to assist in increasing profitability and overall cost control.
  • Take part in what if analyses/scenarios to aid management in business investment decisions.
  • Work on special projects.

Review

Present and discuss financial plan/results with the team:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial reports including variance analysis and commentary for expenses, capital and headcount.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations including various graphs and charts for business review discussions with the management team.
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial plan/results to management team and risks/opportunities to plan

Team member involvement can include the following areas: Budgeting, Forecasting, Monthly Close, Capital and Headcount reporting.

GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • General proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures
  • Basic planning/organizational skills and techniques
  • Basic analysis and problem solving skills
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Working knowledge of JDE and Hyperion systems.
  • Ability to work with confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Basic understanding of Henry Schein accounting/financial concepts and terminology.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 1 to 3 years of related professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required

The posted range for this position is $55,382-$76,151 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
