ABOUT THE JOB The Business Unit (BU) AGRIntelligence Agronomy Manager sets direction and provides leadership for agronomy-related opportunities by delivering overall agronomic support to the AGRIntelligence team and locations throughout the assigned business unit. This includes training location sales teams to help them develop both basic and advanced agronomic knowledge to find solutions to customers' agronomic problems. Job responsibilities also include managing and analyzing AGRIntelligence data collected within the business unit and collaborating with other business unit teams, Agronomists and the AGRIntelligence team to share ideas about potential tools and reports in AGRIntelligence 360 that could enable better utilization of AGRIntelligence data by field teams. This position works closely with the HPG Client Service Team, Fertilizer Managers, the Seed Manager, HPG Product Managers, AGRIntelligence teams and the National Agronomist to find opportunities for solution-based selling utilizing AGRIntelligence data. This role also serves as a leader within the business unit to effectively communicate agronomic opportunities to business unit leadership. WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Establishes goals and direction for utilizing AGRIntelligence data by designing effective training and development programs to encourage solution-based selling.
- Works with Sales Representatives, sales support teams, the AGRIntelligence team, Agronomists, HPG Client Service Team and HPG Product Managers to develop sound agronomic fertility programs in their territories.
- Plans and presents at agronomic meetings to sales locations and customers to demonstrate the value of AGRIntelligence data and how this data can help position solutions using Helena products and services.
- Encourages and helps create consistent agronomic training throughout the BU.
- Maintains current information resources by attending agronomic seminars to develop a network of university and industry contacts.
- Cross trains with HPG, seed and the AGRIntelligence team on agronomy practices and highlights the value of AGRIntelligence products, services and data to provide to Helena customers.
- Helps set direction on soil fertility equations and tissue sufficiency ranges as needed within the business unit by collaborating with AGRIntelligence and agronomy teams and leading communication with the National Agronomist and Technical Agronomist to facilitate updates.
- Assists in setting up research and demonstration plots related to seed, HPG and fertilizer; specifically, when plots include AGRIntelligence data.
- Keeps up with advancements in the precision ag/information management industry including collaborating with National Agronomist in field testing new tools and technology.
- Collaborates with BU and Division leadership teams, Agronomists across the company, the National Agronomist and Technical Agronomist to develop training materials and new reports/tools for AGRIntelligence offerings.
- Collaborates to create new AGRIntelligence 360 system development.
- Works with Fertilizer Managers to share data insights and highlight potential fertilizer opportunities.
- Encourages thorough data collection among the users and customers of the AGRIntelligence system in order to be prepared for future opportunities and offerings.
- Communicates market intelligence and competitive threats to corporate leadership.
- Evaluates basic supplier programs and offerings for potential opportunities and shares them with corporate leadership.
- Assists the National Agronomist in promoting and supporting Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and 4R efforts (including other similar certifications and programs) where applicable. This includes training and preparing employees to successfully obtain the necessary certifications.
- Promotes AGRIntelligence as a tool to market and position other Helena products, seed and services.
- Integrates AGRIntelligence, agronomy, HPG, fertilizer and seed into sales programs.
- Manages other team members.
- Required to drive a company vehicle.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in business or agricultural related field is required.
- Master's degree in an agricultural science discipline is preferred.
- Five years of experience in sales or agronomic support is required.
- Two years of leadership experience is required.
- Certification as a Certified Crop Advisor (or working toward certification) is required.
- 4R Certification (based on territory) is preferred.
- Pest Control Advisor license is preferred. If role is in California, it is required (based on territory).
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Self-motivated and a team player.
- Strong agronomic background and discipline.
- Working knowledge of digital ag/precision ag market is required.
- Working knowledge of full-service retail ag-supply business including crop input recommendations to growers including general business operations and agricultural crop input and services.
- Experience in various customer application methods is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of farming operations.
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to make public presentations.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
- Ability to travel by various means 50-75% is required.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
