Job Summary

Come join our team as a Property Materials Technician! This position will provide operational support related to property and materials receipt, delivery, disposition and set-up, maintains property records and schedules, and sets up and removes furniture, equipment and signage for meetings or events.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Essential Functions

40% - Serve as operational support in shipping and receiving; receive and account for merchandise, equipment, documents, and materials; review and verify order documentation; provide notification of shortage and overage; perform materials inspection for transit damage; make deliveries of materials, documents, equipment, and supplies via forklift, pallet jack, and/or dolly; retrieve information and enter or update information in reports, logs, or other documentation or record keeping system; work with vendors to ship materials; load, unload, and transport materials using forklift to different locations on campus, adhere to safety policies and procedures; provide customer service to internal to external customers; troubleshoot equipment and system malfunctions
30% - Serve as operational support to inventory control; conduct periodic physical inventories of supplies, property, materials, equipment, and furniture including capital equipment inventories; tag college properties accordingly; acceptance of or making donations; surplus furnitures, fixtures, and equipment; maintain automated inventory control system; adhere to applicable policies and procedures.
15% - Respond to work order requests; develop processes for collection and removal of obsolete college assets and deliver surplus property for disposal.
10% - Serve as operational support for internal and external scheduling and use of facilities, including coordination of administrative details in support of facility rentals ensuring appropriate records are completed and maintained; coordinate event support and attend events as needed; maintain and communicate District and college policies and procedure; adhere to applicable federal, state, local and tribal laws, codes, regulations, and standards; purchase supplies and equipment; assist with monitoring and updating vehicle fleet utilization records and reports; assist with fuel purchases and vehicle maintenance schedules; perform necessary fleet checks, taking vehicles off site for service, as needed.
5% - Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year (full-time equivalent) of directly related experience such as property and materials receipt, delivery, and inventory.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications

A. Two (2) or more years of shipping and receiving experience.
B. Experience with high-volume inventory
C. Experience with asset management
D. Experience with tracking inventory using an computerized inventory control system
E. Experience in delivery of shipments
F. Experience in facilities scheduling
G. Forklift Operator certification

Special Working Conditions

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
  • Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to intense noise or travel.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions.
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
  • May climb stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with working at heights.
  • This position requires a physical presence on campus.
