The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role also manages departmental budgeting, collaborates with external partners, and supports the maintenance team in achieving performance goals. The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in planning, scheduling, and improving maintenance processes while ensuring safety, compliance, and cost control. Key Responsibilities: Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Develop, modify, and distribute preventive maintenance (PM) plans and schedules.
  • Monitor and adjust PM's with assistance of predictive maintenance program input
  • Monitor, track, and improve Mean Time Between Failures 25% year over year
  • Work with mechanics to improve PM quality, detail, and completeness.
  • Assist the team in achieving a 95% PM completion rate.
  • Provide recommendations on equipment repair during breakdown situations.
  • Review all completed jobs for accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
Planning & Scheduling
  • Manage work priorities, develop job plans, define parts and material lists, and determine resources needed for safe and efficient work execution.
  • Estimate required hours for work order tasks and total job time.
  • Create and manage daily work schedules for team leaders and mechanics.
  • Ensure work orders are opened and closed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop special project plans, including ordering parts and coordinating resources.
Budgeting & Reporting
  • Meet or exceed annual targets as set forth in plant master plan
  • Develop and maintain the departmental maintenance budget.
  • Monitor and report on budget performance weekly.
  • Track and monitor all repair costs in the CMMS.
  • Provide daily reports to team leaders and the Maintenance Manager.
  • Interact with Augury Preventive Maintenance Engineers and systems to align on predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Coordinate contracted maintenance services, including writing job plans, bidding jobs, obtaining quotes, creating purchase orders, and managing contractors.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to "flow to the work" and support other maintenance activities as needed.
  • Identify and secure all parts and materials required to complete work.
  • Maintain accurate equipment lists, files, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in the CMMS.
  • Serve as a backup for the Parts Coordinator role.
  • Perform initial screening of all work requests to determine scope and priority.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CMMS.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Technical Education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle EAM or similar enterprise asset management systems.
  • Maintenance experience with extruders, baghouses, blowers, and dryers.
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning or industrial maintenance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Physical Demands

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Able to climb ladders and perform tasks on a ladder or at heights.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment (Fork Trucks / Scissor Lifts).
  • Ability to operate forklift, floor scrubber and other janitorial equipment.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Push / Pull up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
  • Able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time.
