The basics of this position:

This is an onsite position located in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Candidates should apply only if they are able to be physically present and available to work onsite by the start date.
The District-wide EMT Program Coordinator (PC) must be responsible for all aspects of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, both administrative and educational. Administrative aspects include fiscal planning, continuous review, and analysis, planning and, development, and the overall effectiveness of the program. Educational responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development and review, etc. There must be evidence that sufficient time is devoted to the program by the PC so that his or her educational and administrative responsibilities can be met.

What you'll do:



  • 1. Provides didactic and laboratory education to students within the EMT program.
    2. Actively participates in teaching related activities including updating course profiles in
    Curriculum Information Management system, course syllabi, lectures, lab activities, and
    assessments.
    3. Supervises EMS adjunct faculty.
    4. Serve as a clinical coordinator.
    5. Prepares teaching assignments and completes workload paperwork.
    6. Ensures maintenance of leave request and attendance paperwork is completed according to
    Board Policies and Procedures.
    7. Modifies the EMT curriculum to meet the needs of the community of interest, as well as the
    policy and procedures set forth by the Bureau of EMS/MO.
    8. Evaluates the achievement of the program's goals and learning outcomes.
    9. Advises potential and current EMT students.
    10. Participates in public recruitment events.
    11.Assists students with application to the program.
    12.Organizes and conducts student orientations.
    13.Attends departmental / Advisory Board meetings.
    14.Maintains all state of Missouri requirements including but not limited to surveys, annual
    reports, and self-studies.
    15.Oversees the EMT program budget and expenditures.
    16.Completes any tasks that fall within the EMT classification.



Education, experience, and other requirements:

1. Current Missouri Paramedic license.
2. Minimum of 5 years active field experience at level taught or higher.
3. Associates or Bachelors (preferred) in related field.
4. Completion of an instructor training program that meets or exceeds the United States
Department of Transportation EMS Instructor 40 hours Curriculum or Fire Instructor I
5. Experience as substitute or instructor Lead/Primary Faculty
