Job Overview:

The United States Army Chaplain Corps builds Army spiritual readiness to deploy, fight, and win our Nation's wars, by providing reliable and relevant world-class religious support, as a unique element of the Army that is fully engaged across the full spectrum of conflict. The Office of the Chief of Chaplains, (OCCH) provides religious services and support to the command as an instrument of the U.S. Government to ensure that Soldiers' religious "free exercise" statutory rights are protected.

OCCH provides leadership to the Chaplain Corps and exercises technical supervision over chaplains, Religious Affairs Specialists, directors of religious education (DREs), religious activities, and religious support operations throughout the Army. OCCH is supported by the Strategy, Plans, Policy and Resources (SPPR) Directorate in the Pentagon, the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) at Fort Hamilton, NY, and the Religious Support Operations Center (RSOC) at Fort Jackson, SC. The USA-IRL represents the Field Operating Agency (FOA) the Chief of Chaplains intends to establish at Fort Jackson. The USA-IRL will be one entity, with four organizational elements-the RSOC, the Religious Leadership Academy (RLA), the Graduate School for Army Chaplain Corps Professional Development (GSACCPD), and the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy (NCOA)-which will operate under the leadership and control of the Chief of Chaplains.

Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides design and maintenance of knowledge management systems and content for projects and programs that focus on streamline processes and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Works with knowledge management databases for data organization and data mining applications.
  • Establishes and maintains agile management tools, such as scrum board or Kanban boards, for organizing, monitoring, and measuring metrics of team effectiveness.
  • Creates and manages user accounts in knowledge management systems, including establishing hierarchies for configuration management and access controls.
  • Establishes templates for live document management in multiple formats.
  • Identifies, collects, synthesizes, organizes, and manages organizational knowledge in support of business units across an organization.
  • Acquires, maintains an understanding of, and leverages knowledge about the business activity on behalf of the organization, its clients, its employees, and its partners.
  • Builds, organizes, promotes, and utilizes a company's conceptual assets in knowledge bases.
  • Improves and modifies the knowledge management structure of the company.
  • Creates joint activities with the knowledge management team and the company partners through workshops, meetings, trainings, etc.
  • Strengthens the connection to aid information exchange within the systems and gives support to establish unity in the organization.
  • Recognizes the strengths and weaknesses of the company and creates improvement in them.
  • Implements new ideas, designs and analyzes networks in the computer for easier distribution of information, and formulates action plans.
  • Enhances and makes sure that new knowledge is applied in the company's system.

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5 years managing KM at strategic level for similar size organization.
