Payroll Manager

Staffmark is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and process payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian locations. This role reports to the HR Officer for the US & Canada and partners closely with HR, Legal, Finance, and other departments to ensure timely, accurate payroll processing and compliance.

Pay: $43.27/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Hybrid: Remote work available 2 days per week (flexible)

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage full-cycle payroll, ensuring timely, accurate payments
• Maintain payroll records, filings, and compliance with tax laws and deductions
• Administer timekeeping systems and review electronic timesheets
• Audit payroll data and generate reports for management
• Handle garnishments, levies, and other involuntary deductions
• Assist with payroll-related inquiries and ensure timely responses
• Collaborate with HRIS and accounting teams for data accuracy and system improvements
• Contribute to payroll policy development and process improvement initiatives
• Support audits, reconciliations, and global payroll projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of multi-state payroll experience
• Proficient in ADP (SAP experience a plus)
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll/tax regulations
• Advanced Excel and payroll system skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• CPP certification preferred
