About the role:

In support of R&D and manufacturing operations, the Equipment Engineer maintains all equipment used for testing, measuring and inspections to ensure the controls, calibration, and maintenance activities are performed and meet Boston Scientific's Quality System standards as well as customer requirements. This hands-on role serves as the liaison between manufacturing, vendors and/or suppliers to manage equipment inventory and address issues to ensure compliance with GMP, ISO standards, design controls, and proper documentation.

Your responsibilities will include:




  • Troubleshooting and analyzing problems to identify, evaluate, propose, and implement corrective actions while documenting the process and verifying the results; ensure product documentation meet quality system requirements
  • Supporting the development and implementation of inspection fixtures and measurement systems
  • Partnering with engineering and quality teams to resolve equipment related non-conformances (e.g., out of tolerance conditions, missing, lost, or damaged equipment)
  • Transferring equipment into designated staging areas and returning to points of use once the necessary maintenance and/or repairs are completed
  • Collaborating with technicians to perform calibration and preventive maintenance (PM); gather quotes from service vendors and communicate scheduled service dates with all internal customers
  • Reviewing assigned controlled documents including work instruction, quality and engineering specifications, calibration records and reports; make recommendations to improve efficiency and ensure compliance
  • Promoting employee adherence to safety procedures and practices throughout the company
  • Maintaining compliance of quality related logs and records including equipment calibration and maintenance training, and others as assigned
  • Visiting machine vendor site to conduct equipment validations and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline
  • Must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach and climb frequently
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle weight up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 5% globally



Preferred qualifications:



  • Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Experience working within medical device or similarly regulated industry
  • Experience with Class II or III devices
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines in a fast -paced environment

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
