How can you make an impact?

McGraw-Hill Education, the leading provider of print and digital educational materials for grades PreK-12, has an immediate opening for an Academic Designer in Science.

This is a full-time remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Visualize and create animated and highly interactive content.
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of interactive teacher and student instructional materials for Science across digital and print mediums.
  • Produce accurate, error-free, high-quality products that meet curriculum standards (including NGSS) and that display appropriate content, reading level, grammar, and style.
  • Track and execute approved workflows at all stages to meet key milestones, intermediate, and final schedules.
  • Identify and solve for issues and risks to schedule, development, and deliverables.
  • Research trends, issues, content standards, and competitive products.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional teams to ensure that market requirements, project schedules, and product goals are met.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in K-12 education with an emphasis on science or bachelor's degree in science, biology preferred.
  • 3-5 years of K-12 teaching experience, instructional design, educational technology for K-12 school curriculum, editorial, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and visualize animated, e-book, video, simulations, games, and interactive content and development.
  • Strong understanding of NGSS - the framework, curriculum development against NGSS, alignment and assessment development across numerous states for customization.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, which include a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing, and grammar and a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills; productive, efficient work habits and the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility.

The pay range for this position is between $54,600 - $75,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
