Accountant Position Summary Credico is a global leader specializing in brokering direct sales services, marketing, and digital acquisition. With operations in the US, Canada, UK and South Africa, our clients include both Fortune 500 and mid-market companies, as well as many of the world’s largest non-profit organizations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for processing invoices, managing employee expenses and credit card reconciliations, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the monthly close and annual audit processes. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting practices. Responsibilities - Receive, review, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and appropriate approvals. Code and enter invoices into the accounting system.
- Prepare and process vendor payments (checks, ACH, wires) in a timely and accurate manner while also ensuring compliance with company payment policies.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor records, including W-9 documentation and banking instructions.
- Resolve payment issues and discrepancies with vendors by working directly with the vendor.
- Reconcile monthly corporate credit card transactions. Collect and validate backup for all transactions posted.
- Review and process employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with the monthly reconciliation of general ledger and balance sheet accounts as part of the close process.
- Maintain organized documentation for audit readiness
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and financial projects as needed by the CFO and Controller.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- This position follows a hybrid schedule and requires the ability to reliably commute to our downtown Chicago office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
- 1-2 years of corporate accounting experience, preferred
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Self-starter and works well independently.
- Seeks out solutions to problems through research and ingenuity.
- Able to work in a team environment while establishing and building relationships with outside departments.
- Proficient in Excel and Word
