Post-doctoral Associate, Humphries lab, Division of Innate Immunity, Umass Chan medical school

A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Fiachra Humphries in the newly formed Division of Innate Immunity in the Department of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, located in Worcester MA. Applications are encouraged from doctoral level scientists interested in working in the area of innate immune signaling, immunometabolism and cell death. Research in the Humphries lab is focused on characterizing how immunometabolic pathways can regulate cell death responses in the context of autoimmunity, tumorigenesis and neurodegeneration. These studies will expose the successful candidate to cutting-edge proteomic, biochemical and molecular approaches as well as in vivo experimental models of disease. Candidates should be highly motivated, technically proficient in molecular and biochemical techniques with evidence of productivity. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in meetings/conferences associated with innate immunity, which will broaden their exposure to cutting edge research within the field. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in immunology, biochemistry, or a related biomedical science. In addition, the potential candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills. Prior experience with cell death, flow cytometry and in vivo mouse models is advantageous, but not required.
