Job Description

The Senior Director of Merchandise Replenishment / Allocation is responsible for assisting in setting and driving overall department strategy, goals and KPIs, driving process improvements, and maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional partners. This role includes a combination of implementing strategic initiatives as well as driving success and continuous improvement in day-to-day execution for the entire department.

The Sr. Director partners closely and supports the Divisional Vice President, Inventory to help execute and deliver on these Inventory pillars: maximize sales through optimized store inventory, collaborate with DC and Store Operations teams in achieving effective labor management, and drive a culture of innovation though continuous improvement. This role will be responsible for developing processes and milestones so each department team can achieve their operational and financial goals. The Senior Director is responsible for thinking about the bigger picture and ensuring that each team's priorities are aligned with the department and organization's goals.

The Sr. Director, Merchandise Replenishment / Allocation is responsible for daily replenishment and managing Inventory levels in stores. The focus of the role will be to enhance the customer experience, optimize sales and balance Inventory, through various Inventory strategies and recommended stocking levels. This role will be responsible for overseeing all of the activities of the Replenishment team - including developing processes, drive analytics and methodologies to support business operations, managing execution of the business process, setting goals, measuring progress towards goals, hiring, training, and performance management. The Sr. Director of Merchandise Replenishment / Allocation is also responsible for providing strategic support and creative thought leadership to drive the Inventory department to achieve world class results. Reporting to the Divisional Vice President, Inventory, this position requires development of new analytics, models, and simulations, the optimization of processes, procedures, and workflows to take the Inventory organization to the next level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of daily Allocation and Replenishment process
  • Determine optimal replenishment strategy and define an effective Store Safety Stock
  • Develop, track and drive success in operating and financial KPIs
  • Develops, implements, and disseminates metrics/KPIs about performance, sales, and outcomes including dashboards and data visualization toolsets
  • Manage our current Replenishment tools and be able to thoughtfully make recommendations toward new ERP / MRP systems / enhancements
  • Deploy best business practices for optimizing sales through effective Inventory management through different assortments and techniques on a sku/store basis
  • Ensure compliance with core company values and drive continuous Improvement across the Inventory department and implement those strategic changes with cross functional partners and department leaders
  • Design solutions that solve Distribution Center operational problems or improve current processes, as it relates to Store allocation demand
  • Highly team-oriented in nature, collaborate and work cross-functionally, presenting him/herself as an Inventory leader to partner with DC Partners, Supply Chain Operations, Store Operations, Merchant teams, Forecasting, Information Technology and Purchasing teams.
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends, patterns and opportunities, provide feedback to key stakeholders in search of analytical-based recommendations/solutions then drive proposed strategies.
  • Provide direction and leadership to deliver high-level analytics services based on scientific methodologies and tools

Requirements

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience
Required

  • 10+ years of direct leadership experience in Replenishment / Allocation in a retail environment
  • Progressive responsibility within Business analytics, Inventory, Supply Chain or Retail Management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or Business, Masters preferred

  • Demonstrate strong and progressive leadership skills with a proven track record as a decision maker
  • Demonstrated strong business analytics and statistical modeling experience
  • Strong time management and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and focus on most critical tasks
  • Ability to frame complex problems, apply creative analytics and formulate a pragmatic solution
  • Deep understanding of ERP systems and Inventory optimization techniques
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle and translate the meaning of large amounts of data.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and modeling software
  • Possess an ability to successfully work with other team members across departments and multiple levels of authority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to present ideas and new concepts clearly and concisely
  • Experience presenting to various levels of management
