Marketing Data Scientist (REMOTE)

Job Responsibilities:

You will help drive growth in GEICO's various lines of business, and help evolve our marketing programs through causal analysis, attribution, media spend optimization, market segmentation, psychographics, multi-attribute testing, and LTV prediction modeling. You will work with large-scale data across variety of channels and customer touch points, conduct in-depth quantitative analysis, build and validate Machine Learning models, and deliver impactful and useful products that will drive key marketing decisions.

  • Design, build and validate Data Science models, such as Mixed Media Modeling, multi-touch attribution, data-drive market segmentation and response models

  • Work with business partners in implementation of such models, monitor performance and impact, adjust model as needed

  • Help with the design and analysis of surveys to assess and track lifestyle and attitudinal change across various market segments

  • Develop and refine customer and market segments/profiles, based on historical marketing performance and associated psychographics and demographics data

  • Analyze survey data, construct predictive features from variety of data sources, and help build a psychographic profile engine

  • Perform detailed customer and prospect analyses for use in acquisition and cross-sell strategies. Analyze and detect shifting trends within customer segments across different channels and product lines.

  • Assist with the design and implementation of an optimization/DoE platform to manage experiments and optimize across multiple competing solutions

  • Utilize statistical and Bayesian learning and related methodology to drive inference and insights from marketing campaigns data

  • Presents models performance and impact, and findings to management.

Technical Capabilities

  • Three to five years of experience in building marketing models (e.g. mixed media models) and conducting marketing analytics

  • Experience with clustering and segmentation methods

  • Experience with design of experiments, causal analysis, and optimization

  • Strong coding skills (Python/R)

  • Solid experience working in marketing campaign measurement for both paid and non-paid campaigns

  • Experience with data science product life-cycle

Professional Capabilities

  • Ability to build, test, and iterate on medium to large scale projects of moderate complexity

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

  • Strong oral and written communication, ability to create presentations with a logical flow to tell a compelling story

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to self-learn; willingness to research, design and test novel solutions and learn from failures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Dynamic Multivariate Search/optimization algorithms: e.g. Multiarmed bandit, reinforcement learning, evolutionary algorithms

  • Strong statistics knowledge

  • Experience with Bayesian learning (e.g. Bayesian regression, Bayesian Networks)

  • Knowledge of Causal inference, discovery and modeling
