About the Role:

Academic Partnerships is hiring a Director, Content Marketing to join our Digital Marketing Team in downtown Dallas, however, work is being performed remotely and candidates must be available for virtual meetings during business hours, Central Standard Time.

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for increasing site traffic and brand awareness through the marketing of content online. You will also be responsible for creating indexable and shareable content, distributing content on the appropriate platforms, and measuring the results of marketing activity. You should be a highly analytical thinker with a customer-first mindset and understand content marketing strategies and search engine optimization.

You will manage a team of content creators, editors, and ultimately own the process of creating and posting content, as well as the strategy behind the content.

This role requires a vast working knowledge of current events, industry trends and discussions in the verticals we serve (healthcare, business, education, tech, and undergraduate education). The most successful candidate for this role will be able to translate hot topics, current events and professional discussions into engaging topical article content that showcases our partners as thought leaders on the cutting edge of industry trends in the sectors our partner programs represent supported by quantifiable search demand.

Responsibilities Include:


  • Designing and implementing marketing strategies for content creation and distribution
  • Managing the monthly editorial calendar and overseeing content creation
  • Researching and creating the bulk of monthly topic prompts that are assigned to writers along with relevant sources to support their writing
  • Driving visits and engagement that translate into building awareness and leads
  • Managing a content marketing freelance and contact budget
  • Measuring the results of content activity
  • Managing an internal team of editors and writers and foster and mentor their growth
  • Managing a team of freelance writers external to AP
  • Managing freelance writer contracts and renewals
  • Processing contractor invoices
  • Implementing SEO best practices within content
  • Receive input from key internal stakeholders for content strategy
  • Ensure available content is properly leveraged throughout the organization


Qualifications Include:


  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
  • Expert editing, writing and communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with content development and publishing
  • Advanced SEO knowledge and experience
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Project management tool experience, i.e., Wrike platform management skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Understanding of Agile framework
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with a team and shift priorities as needed
  • Demonstration of strong verbal written and presentation skills, including good grammar, spelling, punctuation and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and process skills
  • The passion to manage and mentor a diverse team of people at various stages in their career
