Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to gain experience while providing support to essential Cyber Threat Intelligence Team functions. This position supports the Center for Internet Security's (CIS) 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC), where the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) monitors for, analyzes, and responds to cyber incidents affecting state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments.

What You'll Do

    Perform basic analysis of data derived from various sources
  • Utilize the Security Operations Threat Intelligence Platform
  • Integrate and share information with other analysts and teams
  • Assist in applying U.S. Intelligence Community analytical standards
  • Assist with drafting cyber threat intelligence products on cyber security topics
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned


What You'll Need

  • 2 years of study in Cybersecurity, Cyber Intelligence, Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of common Internet protocols, applications, and cyber threats
  • Knowledge of basic analysis and intelligence analysis techniques
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Current or former graduate student
  • Work experience with common Internet protocols, applications, and cyber threats
  • Work experience with intelligence analysis techniques

**Factors that may cause a negative Fitness Review decision include:

  • Criminal Conduct
  • Dishonest Conduct
  • Employment Misconduct
  • Alcohol Abuse
  • Drug Use (illegal drug use or use of a legal drug in a manner that deviates from approved medical direction)
  • False Statements
  • Have not resided in the US for three (3) of the past five (5) years
