Senior Paralegal

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for drafting and negotiating various types of contracts involved in TMV's (Tenaska Marketing Ventures) natural gas marketing business.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist the Commercial, Credit and Legal departments with the review, drafting and negotiation of various types of agreements, including Natural Gas Purchase and Sale Agreements, Asset Management Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Natural Gas Transportation and Storage Service Agreements.
• Strong drafting skills required. Need the ability to draft and revise contract language and draft contract language from general outlines.
• Ability to negotiate agreements with Counterparties and coordinate negotiation responses with Legal, Credit and Commercial teams.
• Interact with internal customers/external Counterparties to resolve and complete outstanding issues.
• Ability to maintain orderly and expedited processing of numerous contracts simultaneously.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve the organization's success.
• Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle assignments from multiple sources
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Extremely detail oriented
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work well with others and as a member of a team
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to be a self-starter and recognize and address problem areas
• High personal standards for performance and integrity
