Profitability Manager
Job Description
Position has broad, end-to-end ownership and accountability for improving profitability at The GIANT Company. Directs and leads strategic efforts to identify and solve the causes of overall profit erosion, with a focus on improving inventory shrink and markdown results, modify/improve the corporate and retail standard practice and processes that impact these results. Seeks input and collaborates with business leaders of Category, Merchandising, Pricing, Information Technology, Pharmacy, Accounting, Distribution, Retail Operations, and Supply Chain Management and other functional areas to analyze, prioritize, create solutions, and enact tactics and initiatives that will improve shrink performance in the banner. Creates long-term targets to enhance profitability that can fuel investment in the business.
Essential Skills
Primary Duties:

Directs the development of reports, predictive analysis, other tools, and ensures associates are aware and trained on programs designed to improve profitability.

Shares insights/learning's with business owners regarding processes/tactics that work and provide solutions to improve those that did not.

Uses Shrink Actual data to identify areas of risks/concerns and provides recommendations to avoid tactics that could create shrink.

Actively leads special projects and provides perspectives concerning new processes or applications being considered for implementation.

Creates metrics to measure the effectiveness of shrink reduction programs, tools, investigations, and other shrink reduction efforts across the organization.

Creates risk classification models used to allocate resources and other asset protection equipment, systems, and tools.

Coordinates projects and activities with all appropriate departments as new shrink risks and solutions are identified.

Follows up with shrink metrics established to determine effectiveness of solution(s).
Typical Year Experience Required:
-
Minimum of 8 years combined experience in retail, merchandising, category, pricing, logistics, supply chain, procurement, and distribution.

Strong financial planning and budgeting experience.

Cross-functional leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build cross-functional teams.

Demonstrated management expertise.

Demonstrated consistent ability with time management and attention to detail.

Seasoned level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices.

Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office.

Requires travel - typically 8 - 12%.
