Technology Architect, Lead

The Challenge:

As a Solutions Architect with the requisite initiative and expertise on our team, you'll provide crucial vision, leadership and execution direction for all domain Systems of Systems architectures. You will provide technical and programmatic leadership taking responsibility to develop new opportunities, build teams, work with industry partners and clients throughout planning, investigation, design, and implementation of various physical and logical systems and solutions. Analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you're developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. Provide direct technical leadership and execution with exploration; utilization of leading-edge principles; creation of methods, models and algorithms; performance of prototyping, and implementation of highly innovative solutions. Understanding and expertise with cloud, DevSecOps, data architectures, and specialized technical solutions as well as industry trends. The role will require work on complex problems operating with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decisions with multiple stakeholders across diverse organizations while executing direct team development and mentorship of senior through junior team members. Research and represent Booz Allen at trade shows, seminars, industry and standards bodies panels, and user communities.

As a technology innovation lead on our team, you have the chance to design information technology systems and drive development of pipelines for DevSecOps and Digital Engineering in support of the U.S. Navy. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate, modernize, and automate and orchestrate globally distributed solutions in support of the warfighter. You'll develop and lead teams in system architecture, strategic roadmaps, cloud computing, site reliability and software development while gaining experience in unique connected environments. You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting the increased effectiveness of systems integration, performance analysis, requirements engineering and management, testing and evaluation for successful system and solution development, design, implementation, and decommissioning
  • 10+ years of experience leading efforts in application orchestration from code, including best patterns and incorporation of various APIs with utilization of Containers, Container Orchestrators, CI/CD pipelines, and various languages or scripts to build containerized applications across multiple endpoint types
  • 10+ years of experience managing and leading efforts with DevSecOps tools, including Jenkins, Gitlab, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, or Logstash, infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation or Ansible, containerization tools and technologies using Docker Enterprise, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Experience with system architecture or microservices architecture, API gateways, including Kong RESTful web services, use of version control systems for code management and artifact tracking, such as Git, Jira or Confluence
  • Experience with research, recommendation, and implementation of strategies or hardware and software enhancements to increase productivity by studying organization goals and strategies, drive innovation exploration opportunities, capture ideas and issues that need innovation, assist in execution of approved innovation events, and evaluate the results of those events
  • Experience in a programming language, including C#, Java, or Ruby or a scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, deployment, and management of common DSO CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, OWASP, SCM, or Artifactory from code, or autonomous contribution to cloud and application orchestration code and involvement in associated peer reviews executing automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to obtain IAT II cybersecurity Certification of Security+, CASP, or CISSP within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to obtain an OS Certification within 6 months of hire

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in system administration, including permissions security, kernel services, and data structures or networking, network troubleshooting, cloud environment or developing IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS services
  • Experience as a Senior DevSecOps engineer on modern platforms streamlining software development lifecycle from requirements to monitoring in production, including incorporation of open-source tools, continuous integration and delivery, automation and orchestration of the application dev and pipeline, and cloud resources to cut down on non-value add activities and breaking open innovation opportunities
  • Experience as an Enterprise IT Solution Architect developing enterprise services incorporating authentication, cybersecurity, ITSM, and various network and server infrastructure monitoring and management
  • Experience with data engineering and analytics leveraging Hadoop, Accumulo, Kafka and dashboard development with Tableau
  • Experience developing, marketing, and delivering product-based approach to digital transformation; drive industry relationship development, solutions and services alignments and integrations to maximize value potential, product education, customer experience maximization and community building
  • Experience in performing in a Functional, Market, Account Manager or Lead role
  • Experience Interviewing and hiring junior, mid, and senior candidates and mentored such individuals and groups while leading multiple concurrent consulting engagements
  • Ability to incorporate LCNC and AI and ML into all applicable business workstreams, enterprise services, and applications
  • Ability to propose enterprise technology and architectures by either leading or doing proof of concepts to deliver stable technology platforms, software, and systems while facilitating rapid scaling and agile response to go faster and deliver more value, including identification of potential applications, utilization of new products, developing products using new techniques and integrated toolsets across artificial intelligence and machine learning, Data Engineering and Data Ops, low code no code (LCNC), or decision support systems
  • Ability to use data driven and digital engineering approaches by employing data analytics, models, and simulations to identify size and scope of impacts, variable isolation, and provide predictive recommendations to ensure issues and resolutions are resistant retroactively and proactively to the fundamental challenges of Enterprise Networks and multi-domain platforms

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,700.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
