PT Hampton Winds Line Cook

The Hampton Winds is looking for several part-time culinary assistants to work with our students to help prepare meals and catered events for Hampton Winds. The successful candidates will be responsible for creating meal portions, cooking meals, cleaning and keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking individuals who have experience in the food service industry and a commitment to impeccable food quality and presentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Culinary Arts Certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification

Skills:

  • Ability to work on your feet for 5-6 hours per day
  • Act professional and be a team player
  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis

Responsibilities:

  • Work with students to prepare signature menu items and complete prep work for other shifts when needed
  • Understand and embrace the NCC and Culinary Department mission and goals
  • Demonstrate proper standards including uniform and punctuality
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, terminology, and ingredients
  • Pay close attention to detail and maintaining quality
  • Ensure that the kitchen, food prep and storage areas are maintained and exceed Health Code Standards
  • Assists chefs with putting food orders away and keeping kitchen organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
