Duties and Responsibilities |
The Budget Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Student Activities & Greek Affairs (
SAGA) office and the management of the Student Activity Fund (
SAF). The Coordinator serves as budget administrator of the
SAF and all student organization accounts. They will supervise student assistants and will manage all departmental operations. The Budget Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Student Activities & Greek Affairs.
Provide financial management of the Student Activities Fund and more than 230 Student Organization accounts. Management includes handling disbursements, purchase requests, receivables, record keeping, and generating reports for each account. It also includes; reconciliation of discrepancies and overall vigilance to assure conformance to
SAF policies and procedures.
- Manage all hiring paperwork for undergraduate and graduate student workers.
- Manage over one million dollars in organization and departmental budgets.
- Coordinates the SUF, SAF Semester Budget and SPOT funding request processes for student organizations through Engage (LUCommunity) platform.
- Manage approximately 230 student revenue accounts.
- Hire, supervise, train student staff.
- Manage online inventory system for department rentals.
- Ensure student service standards, facilitate work flows, maintain office equipment, order supplies and manage file archiving.
- Work with contacts/agents/vendors for departmental and student organization events.
- Manage approved vendor list.
- Manage a software platform that tracks registered student organizations (Engage) events, budgets, registration and assessment; Also, assist in the generation of Engage reports.
- Assist with development and maintenance of departmental publications/literature including, but not limited to: Student Organizations resources, SAF Forms, and all SAGA web pages.
- Attend area, division, and departmental staff meetings.
- Develop quarterly financial reports.
- Assist with student organization and/or departmental events as required (Finals Breakfast, Senior Send Off, Welcome Week, Formal Sorority Recruitment).
- Serve on divisional and university-wide committees as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
Master's degree in college student personnel, counseling, or related field is required. |
Qualifications |
- Two years of related experience.
- Demonstrated success as a fiscal manager; ability to plan, organize, implement and coordinate financial and administrative activities.
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative and to establish work priorities to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage the daily operations of the office; strong preparation, organization, and detail management skills.
- Experience supervising student staff is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity and social justice issues.
- An understanding of and appreciation for Jesuit higher education.
