Marketing Manager-Engagement

The Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Marketing and serve as a key point person for designated digital and vendor relationships as we merge and implement marketing campaigns for the Museum's important exhibitions, world-renowned collections, and Public Programs as well as our Education Division and Merchandising department. This is an exciting time at the Museum as we prepare for our two hundredth anniversary in 2024. Working closely with the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will oversee the Museum's marketing initiatives for paid advertising, promotional campaigns, cross-sector partnerships, and digital marketing. The position will also involve managing relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and partners to develop marketing campaigns as well as meeting deadlines with the greatest attention to detail. The Marketing Manager will join the Engagement division's multifaceted team, including Digital Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, and Merchandising. This division is responsible for leading the institution's audience-engagement strategy.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, digital marketing, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years' experience successfully coordinating marketing strategies and campaigns, preferably in an art, cultural, and nonprofit organization or equivalent
  • Strong copy writing and editing skills, with proven experience writing for paid social- media advertising and other digital-marketing channels
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social-media practices, combined with hands-on experience using various social-media platforms as part of an overall communications strategy
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing deadlines
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of management and support staff and maintain professional integrity in a dynamic and creative setting
  • Passion for the Museum's nonprofit mission and innovative programming as well as knowledge of, and interest in, the Museum's collection
  • An interest in expanding inclusive practices and the ability to take initiative in this area


Responsibilities:



  • Create, develop, and actively manage paid social-media campaigns for Exhibitions, Education, and Public Programs. Produce content with engaging copy that incorporates audience insights. Address targeted audiences to produce ticket sales and engagement on our website
  • Manage vendor relations for paid promotions and out-of-home (OOH) placements to support the Museum's exhibitions, programs, and events
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Engagement department to develop search-engine optimization (SEO) strategies that increase the Museum's search-engine results rankings
  • Manage paid marketing with colleagues in Education, Public Programs, Curatorial Affairs, Membership, and Development to create appropriate and compelling editorial copy for digital advertisements. Promote them through social media and paid partnerships to strategically engage audiences, driving museum attendance and participation in public programs
  • Measure the performance of marketing initiatives and efforts, including analyzing and reporting data and metrics through Google Analytics and optimizing the effectiveness of such actions
  • Work closely with affiliated organizations, out-of-home (OOH) vendors, and digital partners to ensure a consistent and symbiotic digital presence for social posts, cross-promotions, and paid partnerships
