Summary Posted: Jan 26, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200401567 In this creative role, you will work with a variety of disciplines and product groups within Apple to create novel devices and systems. You will play a central role in exploring interaction concepts and electromechanical subsystems for Apple products. Key Qualifications The ideal candidate will have many of the following qualifications: Exceptional problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to fabricate and evaluate prototypes while attending to aesthetic details. Ability to balance speed and quality of work based on objectives. Independent, self-starter, with good interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks, AutoCad, etc. Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC machines. Some experience writing software for analysis and debugging. Some experience with Labview, Matlab and/or Simulink. A passion for doing the best possible work. Description As a concept prototyping engineer, you will work with teammates and partner teams to: - Design and fabricate prototype electromechanical devices that will interface with Apple products based on direction from design leaders inside Apple. - Support concept transfer to Apple's world class product development engineering groups. - Communicate ideas through working demonstrations, videos, and graphical means. - Debug/troubleshoot new concepts. - Support testing and evaluation of new concepts. - Present prototypes and ideas to cross-functional partners. - Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting to program needs as required. - Support senior team members in a variety of innovation and product exploration activities. Education & Experience - BS in mechanical, electrical engineering or technically similar field is required. 2-4 years of experience is desired. Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000 and $196,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
