About this Position:

At this career level, you will be an expert of your job function in charge of delivering defined engineering and testing assignments while assisting in the development of others as a Person in Charge (PIC).

At Honda, our associates take pride in their responsibilities. The general work structure for a Drivetrain Durability Senior Engineer will include:

Responsibilities include:



  • 20% Testing & Simulation, ensuring assigned parts meet design specifications by planning and executing tests and simulations, conducting failure analysis, analyzing test/simulation results, and proposing design changes or recommending countermeasures.
  • 20% Data Collection & Analysis, collating and analyze data using pre-defined tools, methods, and formats.
  • 20% Documentation, preparing clear summaries of test results, at the sub-system level, for review by more senior colleagues to record all necessary information as the development process moves forward.
  • 20% Project Management, working within an established project plan to achieve specific goals. May support-or create for simple projects-the project schedule, coordinate project meetings, provide regular updates and reports, and delivering results within project budget and timelines.
  • 20% Personal Development, developing your own expertise and capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Gaining or maintaining external professional accreditations where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Build proficiency in relevant technology and increase knowledge of external regulations and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and special publications.

We are looking for qualified people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic. To bring the future to Honda as a Drivetrain Durability Senior Engineer, you must have:

Required Work Experience:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6 years minimum experience in a similar technical field
  • Experience with engineering failure analysis
  • 1 year minimum experience supervising and providing leadership to achieve specific end results within limited time constraints
  • Strong computer and data acquisition skills


Required Education:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering


Desired skills:



  • Ability to complete tasks on schedule
  • Present clear summaries of test results which allow completion of development gates
  • Ability to follow instruction with minimal supervision
  • Ability to offer countermeasure direction for testing failures
  • Experience with vender and manufacturing support and negotiations
  • Proficient PC skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, and other data acquisition software
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
