Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Walk-in (Per Diem)

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) also known as Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides urgent care to walk-in patients under the supervision of the supervising Physician in the clinic, following established standards and practices.

Desired Qualifications & Experience



  • Education: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner / Physician Asst program with a Master's Degree level of education is preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current license issued by the State of Maine as Nurse Practitioner /Physician Asst with SMHC supervising physician required. Current certification as NP/PA is required. BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: Three or more years of experience in a walk in care clinic is required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Unit specific criteria desired based on specialty. See unit specific statement of clinical competency.

  • Must be willing to work at all SMHC walk in care locations which include Saco, Sanford, Kennebunk and Waterboro.
