About the role:

HHMI has an endowment with net assets of approximately $24 billion.This endowment is managed by our Investments Department. The Web Developer will be an integral part of our Investment Capabilities team; a DevOps team that services the systems, tools, and processes that support the Investment Department. They will develop, improve, and maintain web-based applications (mix of custom-developed and SaaS platforms) that support the business processes of the Investments team. They will work closely with the Investment team across the full development lifecycle: system analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, training, deployment, production support. The position requires a blend of functional and technical skills which include customer interaction, software design, system integration and process design, back-end database design, as well as the ability to design, implement, and support technical data integrations among systems and develop custom data reports and dashboards.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and deploy web applications using ReactJS, C#, .NET Web API, the Microsoft Power Platform and other relevant technologies in a hybrid on-prem/cloud environment.

  • Architect application structure, object models, define dependencies, etc.

  • Work independently as well as collaborate regularly with members of different teams to understand business needs in order to build comprehensive technology solutions.

  • Use functional and technical knowledge of application configuration, objects, and business processes to identify and solve problems.

  • Participate in agile/capability team processes, providing technical expertise to help advise sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Five to eight years of experience in a DevOps developer role across the full software development lifecycle.

  • Experience integrating multiple systems into a single, cohesive ecosystem via APIs and file-based processes.

  • Experience building highly customized web applications, preferably financial applications.

  • Experience with designing, building, and configuring analytical reports and dashboards.

  • Prefer Financial Services/Investment industry experience supporting SaaS platform integrations and custom application development.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to define problems and propose solutions to technical teammates and business colleagues.

  • An orientation toward customer service and responsiveness.

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. Compensation Range

$101,900.00 (minimum) - $127,375.00 (midpoint) - $165,587.50 (maximum)

Annual

HHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
