About this Position: The Project Leader is responsible for aligning the output of Advanced Safety Controls function groups with new vehicle development program's scope, requirements, and milestone schedule. Responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate project development for driver assist and safety control systems. Represent the output and mission goals of function groups and their departments. Align their deliverables with the project schedule and milestone requirements. Ensure necessary and concise information share among all responsible members. Develop test vehicle requirements and manage the fleet schedule along with requisite resources. Identify critical problem issues, unite teams to form solutions, and establish resolution paths with appropriate deadlines to maximize success. Lead and coordinate all necessary technical documentation for presentation directly to the Technical Evaluation Committee and Business Unit Leadership.
- Communicate and network in a positive professional manner as representative of the project Team, function groups, and their departments. Track, summarize, and present information related to schedules, project status, and problem items. Build collaborative working relationships and core groups across departments to assist in problem solving.
- Gather and maintain a fundamental understanding of project vehicle development flows, Honda evaluation processes, interconnected vehicle system controls technology, software maturation level definitions, and function group test activity requirements.
- Identify, implement, and support process improvement activities to eliminate wasteful, outdated, or redundant methods. Correlate these proposals with stakeholders and lead the solution development when possible.
- Develop a training plan to promote growth of personal and technical abilities. Proactively maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
Who we are seeking: Required Work Experience:
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial, System Engineering, or equivalent project management experience
Desired skills:
- Computer Knowledge: MS Project, MS Visio, Excel, SQL.SPARQL, IBM ALM Suite (RTC. RQM, DNG etc.), Project Management Skills like WBS, Gantt Chart etc.
- Certification(s) Preferred: PMP / CAPM / ECBA certified
- Strong knowledge of project lifecycle, requirements gathering/management, change management, gap analysis, process modelling and data flow diagrams etc.
- Working knowledge of Automated Driver Assist Systems (ADAS), core vehicles systems (powertrain, chassis, body), vehicle communication architecture, and embedded software development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
