About this Position:

This role provides high quality, proactive commercial & transactional legal support, and advice on a timely and cost-effective basis for moderate to complex matters to a variety of Honda companies to help minimize legal risks.

Responsibilities include:

• General Commercial & Transactional advice, support: Provide high quality commercial contract advice, negotiation, and review in a timely and cost-effective manner, to enable the applicable Honda divisions to meet legal obligations and reduce risk for moderate to complex commercial matters. Includes support related to strategic alliances and Honda's electrified future.
• Legal case management: Work with and support litigation team in contract and commercial disputes for applicable Honda entities. Manage applicable outside counsel and expert fees, to reach the best long-term solution for Honda in moderate to complex matters.
• Knowledge management: Follow changes in all relevant laws and regulations, technology, and commercial best practices. Exchange and share knowledge with the applicable Honda entity/division/department, as well as train Honda associates in legal best practices, to improve the awareness, quality, and effectiveness of the legal function.
• Projects: Participate in the planning and execution of assigned projects with a regional focus.

Who we are seeking:

We are looking for qualified people and diverse background and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic, to bring the future to Honda.

Required Work Experience:

• 5-9 years of experience as an attorney in commercial transactions.
• Good knowledge of the areas of commercial transactions, technology, supply chain, strategic alliances, or related areas.

Required Education:

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an Accredited Law School
• Admitted to the Ohio, or other U.S. State Bar.

• Good skills in communication, problem solving, customer satisfaction, building relationships, coaching, decision-making, risk analysis, flexibility/adaptability, patience, listening, good writing, risk taking, focusing on achieving results and supporting others to achieve results, and legal technical knowledge.
