Clinical Pathology Technician

Job Description:

The role of the Clinical Pathology Technician will perform initial screening and evaluation of clinical pathology samples such as blood films, urinalysis, otic and fecal samples that are submitted by veterinary clinics and hospitals through CAHs Cellfie clinical pathology platform for sample analysis and interpretation. The ideal candidate will evaluate case submissions and provide interpretation for certain microscope samples. The applicant will be preferably a certified Veterinary technician specialist in Clinical Pathology who will be able to read and interpret samples for consult in 15-30 minutes / case.

The candidate may also serve as a back-up medical concierge when needed.

The Position Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be available for sample analysis and interpretation 8h Monday - Friday in 8 h shifts and every other Saturday in 8-hour shifts.
  • The candidate will evaluate submissions in a timely manner (15-30 minutes).
  • The candidate will flag samples to be further evaluated by the on-shift clinical pathologists as needed.
  • Fill in for the medical concierge as needed.

Each Candidate will need to:

  • Have direct access to the internet.
  • Be proficient with common digital communication platforms (TEAMs, Zoom etc.)
  • Have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Be able to organize and prioritize work.
  • Have a service-oriented attitude.
  • Have a strong interest in Clinical Pathology

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will need to be a certified Veterinary Technician preferably with a specialty in clinical pathology.
  • Have 5 years' experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital and understand veterinary clinic workflow.

Preferred:

  • Interested in diagnostics and technology.
