Job Description:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field of study preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar marketing, sales, promotions or advertising role required
  • Retail, sports, recreation or outdoors experience preferred

Skills:

  • Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create thorough documentation and interface effectively with individuals at various levels
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to independently and effectively lead and administer meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate with a sense of urgency
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel

Responsibilities:

  • Develop partnerships with local community influencers and organizations that result in positive Brand perceptions and drive traffic/trial with assigned region
  • Partner with Store Directors in assigned region to provide marketing expertise and ensure consistent execution of marketing programs at the store level
  • Create tactics to amplify and localize corporate Brand message through programs and partnerships that Promote Academy Brand, drive traffic, and build customer relationships.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide competitive intelligence by region/market
  • Develop, plan and execute programs/events to support company priorities locally in order to maximize opportunities and minimize risks
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to execute grand opening plans and events for new stores in assigned region - provide market knowledge to drive localization and leverage community partnerships from opening through comp store
  • Identify and evaluate new marketing opportunities in assigned region
  • Partner with communications, community relations and media stakeholders to:
  • Drive community engagement that results in "earned media"
  • Ensure localization of message/timing across media channels
  • Inform store operations of marketing support plans
  • Manage local budget for assigned region
  • Partner with store operations for execution of programs and events
  • Support marketing projects and initiatives for additional regions as needed
  • Develop thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Attendance

  • Regular attendance required
  • Up to 50% travel, as needed
  • Ability to provide in-person support and coordination of promotional events on nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by business needs
  • Ability to lift up to thirty pounds unaided
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
