Advisor Compensation Processing Team Lead

Location(s): 12325 Port Grace Blvd La Vista, NE 68128

Role Type: Full-Time (Hybrid / Remote)

Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Team Lead position is to act as a real-time information and training resource to the Advisor Compensation Processing team. Other responsibilities include mentoring and training new and tenured employees and initiating training sessions as needed. The Advisor Compensation Processing Team Lead position is further responsible for serving as the first point of escalation for handling processing needs and escalating appropriate situations as they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, input, maintain and track commission batches from sponsor companies and representatives alike by coding with rep information, and product information on the commission statement.

  • Prepares and reviews check deposits

  • Communicate and resolve with sponsors discrepancies in statements and payments received

  • Formats excel spreadsheets for upload into the commission system for processing to reps

  • Opens and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail

  • Perform Quality Assurance on colleagues' work to ensure the accuracy of the information entered into the commission's systems as batches are processed

  • Prepare processed batches each week for imaging into the Docupace System

  • Process and edit all downloaded batches on the Commission System to release commission batches into the Weekly Commission Cycle

  • Serve as the first point of contact and lead research for escalated internal concerns (Ex. Accounting, Compensation Processing, Compensation Inquiry)

  • Manage the daily workflow of the Compensation team and ensure deadlines are met

  • Manage team metrics to assist in identifying trends and workflow needs

  • Providing coaching and guidance to compensation service team members

  • Assist with regular 1:1 meetings with processing team members and perform 1:1 meetings in the manager's absence.

  • Provide feedback to the manager for semi-annual and annual reviews

  • Assisting manager with training and development

  • Assist manager with identifying necessary corrective action/performance improvement plans

  • Evaluate and analyze non-routine problems (complex errors, exceptions, special requests, etc.) Escalate for problem resolution to the appropriate area

  • Assist and maintain quality service to all Financial Professional serviced by the Compensation Processing team

  • Additional duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Basic Requirements:

  • At least four years of experience processing Broker-Dealer back office commissions.

  • Must be proficient in the following: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Must acquire and retain the knowledge of securities industry rules and best practices regarding Commission Processing and have strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be team-oriented and client-focused.

  • Excellent communications skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to provide Quality Assurance testing and address concerns.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel a plus.

  • 4 - 5 years of industry experience preferred.

  • 1 - 2 of supervisory experience preferred.
