Description Individual with 3+ years of experience in the laboratory. The candidate should have familiarity with mouse handling, genotyping, and colony maintenance as well as procedures for metabolic analysis and tissue retrieval. The candidate should be able to carry out standard molecular biology studies (qPCR analysis, cDNA cloning, transient transfection assays) and protein analysis (Western blotting, Immunoprecipitation). Individual will also assist with lab supply purchasing and tissue culture. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assisting staff scientist and post-doc (50%) Lab management (25%) Small animal maintenance (genotyping, metabolic studies) (25%) EXPERIENCE Required: 2+ years of experience in the laboratory EDUCATION Required: BS/BA or equivalent Preferred: No additional preferences required SKILLS AND ABILITIES Required: Lab managerial experience, standard molecular biology (cloning, Q-PCR, transient transfection assays), and mouse handling (metabolic analysis and genotyping) Preferred: No additional preferences required *The expected pay range for this position is $21.15 - $25.00 per hour.* Salk Institute provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the institute reasonably expects to pay for a position.
