GEICO Technology Solutions is seeking a Business Process Architect with Business Architecture, Business Process Design and Automation experience to analyze and design modern business processes and assist with the automation of those processes. The Business Process Architect will play a critical role in establishing consistent standards, patterns and practices across Architecture disciplines to support product, delivery and value streams. There will be strong emphasis on developing and following established service maturity standards.

Description

The Business Process Architect will be an experienced professional with experience in Business Process Modeling, Business Architecture and Automation, and will have a strong understanding of business process design best practices, principles, and patterns. Our Business Process Architect translates business needs into business requirements, solutions, and roadmaps. This includes providing review and support for application design, and supporting major enterprise initiatives like cloud migration. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of various business process modeling techniques and best practices, and knowledge of tools to create and visualize architectures, e.g. Visio, MS Power point etc.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document existing business processes using interviews, workshops, document analysis, surveys, event storming, user scenarios, process maps, process mining, task and workflow analysis
  • Research industrywide best practices for implementing modern business processes in core business domains, and identify opportunities to enhance processes to align with best practices
  • Analyze existing business processes for efficiency and effectiveness, establishing links between business strategies and improvement initiatives; make recommendations for business process enhancements
  • Assist with defining Value Streams for core business domains
  • Identify business process automation opportunities and assist with building automations; leverage knowledge of business process automation tools to provide guidance
  • Work with architecture and engineering teams to design applications based on understanding of customer business process needs
  • Establish deep business domain knowledge in at least one business area
  • Build/support dashboards and reports using available BI tools such as Power BI
  • Develop communication materials that are targeted to the audience perspective, providing accurate information in a professional and engaging manner
  • Translate requirements into functional service designs and create service models along with supporting documentation (activity and sequence diagrams)
  • Identify opportunities to reuse enterprise technology services
  • Ensure recommended architectural designs and patterns are adhered to as part of delivery

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and hands-on expert in business architecture and business process design
  • Deep understanding of business process analysis, optimization, and automation techniques
  • Knowledge of Azure or other cloud computing platforms
  • Insurance industry domain knowledge
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong writing skills and thought leadership
  • Ability to influence through persuasion
  • Ability to create a set of requirements in partnership with business and engineering stakeholders and to ensure solutions map to the goals of the organization and customer needs
  • Strong problem-solving skills - ability to see past the immediate answer to the simple, elegant solution
  • Ability to see and implement patterns that enable solution simplification

Experience

  • 6+ years of business process analysis, business process management or business architecture experience
  • Experience with process modeling techniques (BPMN, UML, flowcharts etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud Technologies, Application Design or Development
  • 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry
  • 2+ years of experience with agile methods, developing end-to-end lifecycle software management, integration testing, and / or CI/CD automation tools

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent verifiable experience, skillset and track record of success

Annual Salary

$72,000.00 - $185,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
