Title: Senior Analyst (Automotive Consulting)

Location: Metro Detroit

Reports to: Managing Director - Customer Success - Analytics Lab & ALG Consulting; Supporting Client Directors

The Role:

As part of the Data and Analytics division of J.D. Power, you will work with Client Directors within the Customer Success team on rotating projects within multiple areas of JD Power business, such as content analysis, sales strategies and residual values to assist automotive manufacturers in making informed decisions relating to their current and future products and portfolios. To do this, the Sr. Analyst will use industry knowledge, data analysis and visualization skills to create well-informed and actionable projects.

The Impact:

The Customer Success team is well-informed of what the automotive pipeline consists of and uses this knowledge to provide guidance to manufacturers that impacts how vehicles are made and sold.

Responsibilities:

This position will gain exposure to several areas of JD Power's business within the Automotive Industry, including Content Planning, Residual Values and Incentive Planning. Rotations include various responsibilities, such as outlined below:



  • Support vehicle contenting and trim strategy analyses to help manufacturers improve decisions impacting volume and profit
  • Production and delivery of reports and studies based on client needs/request, leveraging data team resources and tools such as AA, Tableau and others
  • Provide user training to clients on the usability of tools and types of analyses possible
  • Produce actionable and data-driven consulting studies for automotive clients including analyses on sales strategies, product competitiveness and drivers to residual outlook
  • Use automotive knowledge and data analysis to make recommendations for manufacturers to optimize sales strategies within the new and used markets
  • Present study results to clients in person and/or virtually
  • Actively participate in internal meetings and project reviews



Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of automotive industry experience
  • BS/BA degree required (preferably in the areas of auto engineering, business administration, applied statistics, or business economics)
  • Strong background in automotive space with knowledge of makes, models, segments, performance, lifecycle trends, automotive technology and content is necessary
  • Knowledgeable of the factors that impact new and used vehicle performance
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior members internally and externally
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong data analysis and data visualization skills
  • Working knowledge of Tableau
  • Ability to travel 0-25%
