Overview
The logistics manager will be responsible for logistics resources, such as schedules, resources and sequencing to achieve delivery goals. Analyzes and improves operational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency. Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks while formulating strategic solutions. Fosters teamwork and cooperation among local staff and broader organizational groups. Key responsibilities also include supporting safety, quality and environmental certifications, adhering to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and maintaining ethical and respectful business practices. Other key aspects include:
- Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
- Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in the logistics flow including TL, LTL and parcel services
- Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from manager
- Formulating long and short-range strategies for continuous improvement.
- Possess the ability to nimbly to react to market conditions and customer requirements while still delivering on KPI's.
- Demonstrate insatiable desire for Innovation and Lean as a cultural attribute throughout the operation.
- Exhibit focus and stamina while delivering strategic transformation projects crafted with senior leadership.
- Leverage technology and 5S to maintain a competitive advantage to other service options.
- Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves issues of medium complexity involving stakeholders and escalate to appropriate level when required.
- Establishes and maintains credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business partners and external vendors.
- Reconciles discrepancies related to the flow and storage of parts and equipment. Develops countermeasures for any process deficiencies or risk gaps.
- Solicits and responds to feedback while gaining commitment and support.
- Stays up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology.

- Developing and implementing operational procedures and policies
