The Flavell Lab is interested in the molecular and cellular basis of the immune response. About the Administrative Assistant role:
This role is an integral part of the lab and will be responsible for supporting the Investigator and lab members with administrative duties including calendaring, travel, and correspondence. Strong candidates will have significant prior experience working with these responsibilities across a variety of mediums.

What you'll do:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Investigator and a medium-sized lab of approximately 30 members.

  • Serve as a liaison between the laboratory and staff at all organizational levels.

  • Maintain multiple and complex office calendars.

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate meetings and business travel, including expense reimbursement reports.

  • Create and maintain laboratory files.

What you bring:

  • A bachelor's degree is required.

  • A minimum of 3+ years of administrative support experience, preferably in a research/scientific or higher education environment.

  • Strong computer skills using standard office equipment including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Comfort working in a Mac environment is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent writing, organizational, recordkeeping, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive demeanor.

  • Excellent time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously while remaining flexible to handle changing priorities.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

$51,135.00 (minimum) - $63,900.00 (midpoint) - $83,055.00 (maximum)

HHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
