Job Description
Prepares and positions patients appropriately for vascular studies. Sets-up, operates and maintains related diagnostic equipment.
Job Responsibility
*Prepares patients for vascular study by determining necessary anatomical positioning of patients in accordance with departmental policy.
*Operates ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to examine various parts of body (i.e upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex, ABI/pvr, carotid duplex, trans-cranial duplex/Doppler, visceral vascular, graft surveillance, vein mapping, EVAR/abdominal aortic duplex, etc.
*Measures and calculates pressures and pulse on peripheral arteries and veins throughout body (carotid, aorta, femoral, popliteal, saphenous).
*Notifies physician to review and ascertain whether further examination, is required.
*Prepares and transmits reports and maintains examination records.
*Maintains equipment in proper working order, makes minor adjustments, and requests repair service, as required.
Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification
*Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program, required.
*Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered *Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.
*Minimum of one (1) year sonography experience in hospital setting, required.
*Ability to communicate effectively.
