200451026 One of Apple's R&D groups is currently seeking a test, instrumentation and integration engineer. This engineer will build capabilities to assess performance of dynamic prototypes and all associated sub-components. This includes instrumentation and test software to assess actuators, sensors, and electronics. This highly cross-functional team is working hands on to prototype and develop unique motion systems and evaluate module performance. We are looking for passionate and creative individuals to build a set of tools and capabilities that enables the larger team to make data driven performance assessments on a host of technologies.
Key Qualifications
- 8+ years of related experience and strong knowledge in sensor testing, automation, and integration.
- Experience with embedded systems testing, analysis and bringup.
- Skilled in rapid integration, prototyping and testing of actuated systems.
- Expert in Matlab and Simulink with direct experience with deployment on real time target systems such as dSPACE, Speedgoat, or National Instruments HW systems.
- Experienced with serial communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C, BISS, etc...
- Experienced in test and debug of physical systems (sensors, actuators, algorithms)
- Strong in data analytics, root cause analysis with emphasis on data introspection
- Experienced with hardware in the loop (HIL) automation
- Confident with source control (eg. GIT) on multi developer projects
Description In this role you will partner with controls systems developers, motor, actuation, sensor, power electronics engineers, and sensor hardware experts to develop test, instrumentation and characterization capabilities. You will develop full hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) benches for pre-production hardware validation. You will work on the cutting edge of Apple's latest sensing, controls and motion system endeavors and build high visibility prototypes! Responsibilities include: -Building mixed HW/SW instrumentation setups using digital and analog sensors, data acquisition systems, and test automation software. -Architect end-to-end HIL test systems including mechanical and electrical concepts. -Work cross functionally (MechE, EE, Controls) to build and validate capabilities. -Communicate progress cross-functionally (written, verbal and presentation) -Perform failure analysis and problem solving
Education & Experience MS or PhD in Engineering, Robotics or CS

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
