ABOUT CESA #1:

CESAs were started over 50 years ago to partner with local school districts to provide high-quality educational and therapy services for students. Wisconsin is divided into 12 CESAs, with CESA #1 comprising six counties in southeastern Wisconsin. CESA #1 is home to 30,000 educators and more than 300,000 students. We are a critical partner to schools, providing reliable, just-in-time support. We offer over 100 kinds of services, including consultation, workshops, and staffing for districts. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide individualized orientation and mobility instruction for blind or visually impaired students, ages 3-21, on an itinerant basis. Evaluate student skills and needs, prepare behavioral objectives, and complete progress reports. Consult with staff, other professionals, and parents. This position's responsibilities include a wide variety of classroom settings and student ages and experiences. Our Orientation and Mobility Instructors have the opportunity to work with many different people, school districts, and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor's Degree
-Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction License as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
-Knowledge base in low vision, activities of daily living, and transition
-Ability to be flexible, meeting the needs of students and districts
-Ability to adapt to different systems
-Willingness to drive to multiple locations
-Current driver's license
