What you will be doing

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of the Vice President, External Communications, the Director, Executive Communications serves as a strategic internal and external communications advisor to the Executive Management Team, with a focus on our Chairman and CEO, and Chief Operating Officer to develop internal and external messaging and communications that align to our enterprise strategy, purpose and financial objectives.

This role is both strategic and tactical, with a deep understanding of our industry and overall the healthcare environment, superior and demonstrated ability to create stories and speech writing that is compelling, and exhibiting superior organizational, strategic thinking and managerial skills that drives toward the successful execution of an integrated executive communications plan.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a communications advisor for the Chairman and CEO, as well as other members of our executive management team.
  • Primary speechwriter for the CEO, COO and other leaders as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains enterprise key messages, in-line with the organization's strategy and purpose, to incorporate into CEO and Executive presentations, remarks, thought leadership and other communications channels for both internal and external audiences.
  • Understands the unique voice and personality of the organization's senior leadership team and uses the principles of rhetoric to develop communications that will resonate and motivate the intended audience(s).
  • Responsible for developing presentations and remarks for quarterly Board of Directors meetings, customer and manufacturer meetings, as well as internal and external speaking engagements and events.
  • Develops processes and protocols to prepare and brief leaders in advance of internal and external events.
  • Manages and executes content strategy for our annual executive management meeting
  • Proactively manages team members' performance to ensure high-quality communications services, including editing, research, program management, etc.
  • Works closely with the Video Production team to create high-quality video and multimedia content that support our business objectives.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve communications effectiveness through new tools and strategies.
  • Educates and communicates goals, strategy, and methodologies clearly and persuasively.
  • Builds relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Serves as a communications adviser on solution development, events and programs, often serving as a member of special project teams or their steering committees.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
