Senior Director, Thoracic Marketing

The Senior Director of Thoracic Marketing is accountable for all aspects of marketing that support the use of Novocure's therapy, Tumor Treating Fields. The Senior Director will be responsible for implementing a brand plan and leading all the Marketing activities. This role will provide the strategic support on cross-functional direction for commercialization, including brand strategy, HCP and patient promotions, KOL development / engagement, tactical plans and metrics.

This is a full-time, exempt position and reports into the Vice President, US Thoracic.

The ideal canddiate will be based near one of Novocure's US offices but may be located remotely withmandatory travel to the New York, NY or Portsmouth, NH office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead the 6-8 members of the marketing team as a first and second line leader to achieve key strategic and business goals to broaden access of Optune for eligible patients
  • Collaborate with Global Marketing team to appropriately develop and execute commercial strategy
  • Ensure strategic alignment and consistency in execution with US functional partners to ensure consistency of core messages and communication with customers
  • Deliver integrated marketing plans focused on physician and patient awareness, adoption, and sales growth of Novocure's TTFields therapy
  • Build stalwart relationships and treatment advocacy with key customers such as medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons and other key stakeholders
  • Build patient advocacy by providing effective and customized education, and by encouraging comprehensive physician-patient dialogue
  • Analyze customer insights, supervise brand performance and competitive dynamics to shape marketing strategy and address customer needs
  • Develop an ROI measurement plan to assess the effectiveness of key programs and initiatives
  • Oversee the Marketing budget for the assigned brand, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources and accountability for matching expenses with approved budgets
  • Apply creativity, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking in addressing opportunities and solving complex business and marketplace issues
  • Serve as the key advocate and champion for the brand across all internal functions, building key cross-functional relationships, and communication to ensure strategic alignment with Sales, Medical, Learning & Development, Operations, Legal, and Compliance
  • Develop and execute an expert engagement plan to include speakers' bureau and content creation. Lead all commercial activities that involve advisory boards
  • Work with legal and compliance to ensure activities meet expected standards
  • Build out a customer engagement strategy with the field teams to optimize interactions with Thought Leaders to achieve brand goals.
  • Actively mentor, develop, and lead direct reports so that they are aligned with the company/franchise vision, focused on their key areas of responsibility, engaging in effective communication, and excited about their future at Novocure



Qualifications/Knowledge:



  • Proven leadership experience with direct reports required
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of marketing and brand experience inclusive of experience in a patient-centric pharma, biotech or medical device role is required
  • Experience in lung cancer or a similar large volume oncology disease area is required
  • Ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate and collaborate
  • Experience in all aspects of brand marketing including HCP, patient, and KOL Engagement required
  • Experience working collaboratively with global marketing is required
  • Previous launch experience in strategy, brand positioning, and tactical execution is required
  • Prior sales experience or substantial exposure to sales is a significant advantage
  • Educational background to include an undergraduate degree in a Science or Business major from a recognized University program; MBA is preferred
  • Prior work with complex therapeutics is preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently, but possessing strong collaborative skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a highly virtual, global team
  • Inherent sense of accountability for driving team results
  • Ability to prioritize and set measurable goals and objectives for team and self
  • Must possess strong communication and presentation skills, including ability to work with all levels in the organization
  • High energy, creativity, and aptitude for handling multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong understanding of patient-centric marketing and branding, acquired in complex disease areas with deep patient focus
  • Prior experience being a passionate "champion" for a therapy or patient group
  • Demonstrated track record of commercial success in positions with progressive responsibilities
