General Description of Position:

The Information Center Receptionist greets all visitors in-person at the Enrollment Center information desk, answers basic questions, provides general direction and enters them into queuing system to be seen by Enrollment Specialists, Academic Advisors or another student success staff member. This position also answers phone calls and conducts other general clerical assignments. This position provides welcoming hospitality for the campus.


Major Responsibilities:

Provide general information about admissions, registration, financial aid, orientation, assessment, business support, and the campus.

Assist with all special projects and mailings, as well as provide filing, data entry, telephone and clerical assistance for the various departments in Student Affairs.

Read and understand forms for all departments and provide proper forms to customers.

Verify completeness of forms and accompanying materials.

Maintain appropriate inventory of necessary student materials.

Compile information packets and mail as requested by the Admissions office.

Greet visitors and students, clarify and answer general questions, and/or enter student into queuing system to be assisted by team members.

Direct students to the correct location or refer to team members.

Distribute general college and Enrollment Center information (e.g., catalogs/program brochures/course descriptions and forms) to students and visitors.

Collect, date-stamp and scans student forms for back office/processing support.

Function effectively in a team environment.

Maintain working knowledge of emergency/safety procedures as provided by supervisor.

Be knowledgeable of the locations of the electronic and hard copy of procedures when applicable in order to deliver information as needed to customers.

Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required; Associate degree or equivalent preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Ability to operate office equipment.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications: Word and Excel.

Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.

Work Hours:

10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday


Hiring Range:

$35,000 - $38,000 annually
