Position Summary:
The Ying Wu College of Computing at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a senior faculty member to serve as the Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity. Candidates must have a PhD in computer science or a related discipline with a demonstrated track record of scholarly accomplishments commensurate with the appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or above. Candidates with doctorates from top worldwide institutions are especially welcome to apply.

Essential Functions:
The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment in the department of Computer Science and is expected to lead the creation of the Institute for Cybersecurity, which builds on top of existing research and educational strengths in cybersecurity and will span multiple departments across NJIT. As the Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity, the candidate must attract funding and develop collaborative relationships with industry. NJIT has recently expanded its graduate programs to a satellite location in Jersey City, just across the Hudson River from the financial district of Lower Manhattan in New York City, where it serves the vast pool of working professionals in the region. The faculty may be called upon to teach at this location as needed.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- The candidate must demonstrate recognition for productivity and achievement in research and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong business sense, experience in new program/center development and an understanding of what it takes to enhance research funding in a competitive environment. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, financial acumen, and the potential to fundraise are essential.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
