Summary Posted: Jan 26, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200458497 The AirPods Firmware team is looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join our team. This is an individual contributor role to design and develop the software of the core platform for AirPods. You will have the opportunity to drive the technology and product development for AirPods with a wide cross-functional team. Key Qualifications Proficiency in C/C++, some embedded software experience is preferred Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (Java, Scala, Python, Swift, Objective-C or equivalent) Proficiency with scripting (bash, perl, python or equivalent) Working knowledge of SQL and database fundamentals Excellent collaborative skills, should be a great team player Outstanding written and verbal communication You are curious and have excellent analytical and problem solving skills You possess a growth mindset Experience with debuggers such as gdb, lldb, etc is preferred Description This is a high visibility role that involves architecting and developing the AirPods platform. This platform includes key technologies that integrate and manage the data and system states for our products. We are seeking someone who is passionate about our products and improving the quality and innovation of our deliverables. Excellent communication and collaboration is a must, as you will be asked to partner with team members and other engineering teams. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design, implement, debug and test data, telemetry, analytics and dashboard pipelines for Apple-branded audio products - Design, implement, debug, and test embedded C/C++ code running on 32-bit MCU's for Apple-branded audio products - Play a lead role in defining system architecture to implement new products, product features, and data pipelines - Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional engineering teams to define product features and requirements - Enable expansion of our product features through creation of test and analytics tools Education & Experience BS or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000 and $242,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
