JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION:Collects and delivers intrasystem mail and packages.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

JOB FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:



  1. 1.Driving designated route daily, accurately sorting, dropping off and picking up mail and packages


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:



  • Picking up and delivering materials to the various locations and/or post offices as assigned.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient approved routes.
  • Perform general basic clerical work such as filing, making copies or responding to telephone calls.

* Unload and sort items collected along identified driving route.



  1. Maintains cleanliness and serviceability of transport vehicle and equipment


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:


  • Reports repair needs upon discovery. Removes damaged/unsafe equipment from usage.
  • Checks quantity gauges, and exchanges oxygen tanks, regulators, racks, etc. as needed.
  • Disposes of soiled linen properly; distributes clean linen bags.
  • Returns all equipment to proper location at end of shift.
  • Ensures adequate levels in the vehicle (tire pressure, oil, coolant, etc.)


3. Performs all other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Prior experience driving and transporting packages preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Ability to understand and carry out instructions.

Dependable and motivated to complete duties without constant supervision.

Ability to interact appropriately with a diverse population of customers.

Valid LA Driver's License

HIPAA REQUIREMENTS:

Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: medical record w/limitation to job function both paper and electronic, patient demographic information, patient financial and/or 3rdparty billing information, research information.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: incident reporting.
