About this Position:

This position ensures customer, technician, dealership, and business perspectives are included in new model development and projects. Working primarily at the early stages of development, the Sr. Engineer II negotiates with other Honda business units and divisions, ADC & 4MOC function teams, and suppliers to ensure stakeholder perspectives are reflected to the specification based on data analysis, market trends, and business objectives. The Sr. Engineer II is a forward-thinking subject matter expert who is responsible for transparency, collaboration (within team and across organization), and reporting.

Responsibilities include:



  • Develops and maintains an SME level understanding of functional area. Analyses data obtained from internal sources (i.e., warranty & non-warranty failure data), primary research (i.e., benchmarking, clinics, surveys), and other sources (i.e., syndicated and other external data) to draw insights on functional performance and opportunities in the market.
  • Works with stakeholders and counterparts across Honda to create and negotiate new requirements and proactively identify and resolve issues to prevent market occurrences in and beyond their functional area(s).
  • Leads intra- and inter-departmental projects. Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring targets and objects are tracked and met with transparency and visibility.

Required Work Experience:



  • 10 years automotive repair or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading project teams


Required Education:



  • BS in engineering areas, business, or equivalent work experience


Desired skills:



  • Thorough understanding of automotive systems, design and operation, diagnosis and repair
  • Proficient with use of shop tools and equipment, reading and interpret engineering drawings and use of measuring equipment
  • Proficient with business applications including Powerpoint, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and oral communication, story development and presentation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and expertise in quality evaluations (static and dynamic)
  • Knowledge of Honda/Acura dealer operations (direct or indirect)
  • Knowledge of advance automobile systems
  • Knowledge of ACS, Field and Dealer Operations
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Strong collaboration, communication, influencing and negotiation skills

Total Rewards:



  • Competitive Base Salary: $89,100 to $133,600


Pay will be based on several variables that include, but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, etc.
